Healthy Workplaces Good Practice Awards 2018-2019
This booklet showcases awarded and commended good practice examples of the innovative approaches taken by organisations across Europe to eliminating or reducing worker exposure to dangerous substances. These examples go beyond mere fulfilment of legislation and provide a clear demonstration of the benefits of taking a proactive approach to OSH and instilling a culture of prevention involving workers, management and experts.
All of the examples respect the hierarchy of prevention measures and implement the STOP principle, which prioritise elimination and substitution and collective measures over personal protective measures. They are sustainable over time and could be transferred to other businesses, sectors or Member States, adding value to existing practices, while taking account of the needs of the majority of European enterprises, that is, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
